You can go into any of these places and find the same muffin you're used to from home. The problem is that these chains have to cut corners in an attempt to provide shareholder value. The focus in a bakery should not be on shareholder value, but on value for the customer. Moreover, a bakery ought to provide more than just value.

While New York City tends to have ethnic pockets and bakeries aimed to suit those ethnicities, Long Island tends to be a "melting pot" of those ethnicities and thus the bakeries are aimed at a wider variety of people. Delish brings the diversity of New York bakeries to the community it serves.
Dr. Phillips is distinct in that it has attracted many of the transplanted New Yorkers. Unfortunately, their need for the "tastes of home" have as of yet gone unmet... until now! Delish, located in the heart of the Dr. Phillips community, brings the New York neighborhood bakery back into their lives. Delish offers traditional New York bakery items, as well as typical coffee shop products. Those new to New York bakeries are sure to love the traditional treats as much as New Yorkers, since the variety of tastes have pleased millions for generations. And, if not, they can always choose from one of our other selections.
Beyond the tastes of New York, Delish also offers the customization and personalization that all retail bakeries offer, but that chain establishments cannot. Big box grocery stores and chain bread and bakery establishments are too big to move quickly enough to please the ever-changing palate of their customers. Thus, they create a unresponsive product line that the customer is forced to buy. The customers' only alternative is to go somewhere else. However, if their community doesn't offer anything else, they're stuck with the one-size-fits-all product that aims to satisfy everyone but doesn't really please anyone. Next, many of the items that Delish sells cannot be purchased anywhere else in the Dr. Phillips area. Our focus on New York bakery items is not duplicated anywhere in Orlando, to our knowledge. For example, where can you go and get a pound of bakery cookies? Additionally, there are no places in the Dr. Phillips area that you can go just for dessert. We welcome restaurant diners who want to continue their night out with dessert in a high-end establishment that is close to their home.
